Celebrities, music and entertainment executives raise $260,000 at fifth annual Taste of Hope, benefiting City of Hope

Guests raised their glasses – and raised funds – to support City of Hope at the fifth annual Taste for Hope event, hosted by the Music and Entertainment Industry. More than 350 guests attended the event, including industry executives Steve Bartels, Tom Corson, Peter Gray, Richard Palmese, Tom Poleman, „L.A.” Reid and Barry Weiss, and celebrities including Carrie Underwood. Taste for Hope raised more than $260,000 for City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The event was held at Three Sixty° and was sponsored by Mediabase.
„The evening showcased the tremendous support for City of Hope and its dedication to finding a cure and prevention for cancer and other devastating diseases,” said Alissa Pollack, Taste of Hope event chair, executive vice president Integrated Music Marketing for Mediabase Worldwide. „I’m personally moved by the way the industry comes together to help quickly accelerate advanced research to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.”

Inspired by the guiding humanitarian principles of City of Hope and motivated by the institution’s commitment to innovative medical research and compassionate patient care, a group of key industry executives founded the Music and Entertainment Industry Group in 1973. In its 37-year history, the group has raised over $89 million for City of Hope and has honored some of the most important figures in the music and entertainment industry. This year, Shelli and Irving Azoff, executive chairman of Live Nation Entertainment and chairman and chief executive officer of the Frontline Management Group, will be honored with The Spirit of Life® Award. Recent past honorees include Tim Leiweke, president and chief executive officer (CEO), AEG, Doug Morris, chairman and CEO of UMG, and Bob Cavallo, chairman, Disney Music Group.
